Code it like a Girl was the first of its kind Greek initiative aiming to teach women and girls how to code.
Its story began in August 2014, when Maria Dermentzi and Anastasia Siapka, inspired by similar initiatives abroad, wanted to bring the women-in-tech movement to Greece.
Later that year, Maria and Anastasia were joined by Anthi Malteza, Eleni Vasiliki Provopoulou, Maria Nefeli Chatziioannidou and Olga Matoula after a co-founder recruitment campaign.
In 2015, Maria, Anastasia, Eleni, Olga and Nefeli established Code it like a Girl as a social cooperative enterprise. It remained active as a coop till 2016.
During that time, it delivered workshops to more than 300 girls and women in Athens and Thessaloniki.
Throughout its course, CLG was supported by a great number of institutions and volunteers to whom we owe a debt of gratitude.
